A Toast to Discovery: Wine Fair 2024 Recap

Wine Fair 2024 was nothing short of spectacular! An unforgettable celebration of culture, craftsmanship and community. As Nairobi’s premier gathering for wine enthusiasts, the event once again brought together producers, sommeliers, wine importers and passionate wine lovers under one roof to explore, sip and connect.

A First for Nairobi: Serbian & Montenegrin Wines

This year, we raised our glasses to an exciting milestone — the debut of Serbian and Montenegrin wines in Nairobi. Guests experienced bold, character-driven pours from vineyards tucked in the Balkan hills, introducing palates to fresh terroirs and centuries-old traditions. The unique varietals sparked curiosity and conversations, expanding horizons for both seasoned connoisseurs and curious newcomers.

Italian Elegance with Bartone Cesario

One of the most anticipated highlights was the exquisite masterclass by Bartone Cesario, Italian Wine Ambassador. With charm and depth of knowledge, Cesario guided guests through the complexity of Italian wine culture — from the elegance of northern whites to the richness of southern reds. His session was a true journey across Italy’s iconic vineyards, leaving attendees with not just tasting notes but stories they’ll remember every time they open a bottle.

Kenyan Sommeliers Take the Stage

Wine Fair 2024 also shined a spotlight on homegrown talent. Prolific Kenyan sommeliers Kelvin Wanjira and Joy Adero led interactive masterclasses, sharing their expertise and elevating appreciation for food and wine pairings within our local context. Their sessions were equal parts educational and inspiring, underscoring Kenya’s growing footprint in the global wine conversation.

More Than a Fair — A Celebration

Beyond the masterclasses and tastings, the atmosphere buzzed with connection. Wine Fair has always been about more than bottles and varietals; it’s about community. From casual chats over rosé to spirited debates about tannins, every corner of the event reflected the shared love of discovery.

Wine Fair 2024 reminded us why wine is universal — it tells stories of land, tradition and people. This year’s edition set the bar higher than ever and we cannot wait to welcome you back for another round in 2025.
